Spiritual Attitudes

From: Spiritual Attitudes

One must live as one thinks, under pain of sooner or later thinking as one lives.

~ Paul Bourget

In “The Individual and the becoming of the World”, Evola describes certain spiritual “attitudes”, a concept that will be developed and expanded in his later works as “spiritual types” and then “races of the spirit”. The editors of “Sintesi di dottrina della razza” define it thus: “The ‘race of the spirit’ prevalent in ...

Ezra Pound's esotericism

Occultism

Pound embraced the Social Credit theory with enthusiasm. Here was the means by which the Money Power which corrupted culture could be overthrown. During the 1930's and 1940's Pound wrote a series of booklets on economics and politics, including his first "Social Credit: An Impact"(1935), "A Visiting Card" (1942), and in 1944 "Gold and Work" and "America, Roosevelt, and the Causes of the Present War," the latter three being published by Fascist ...

Karma and Reincarnation

From Karma and Reincarnation

When you speak of your memory of the future, you’re probably thinking of transmigration or reincarnation. Maybe you think I can help you fulfill your desinty. But the idea of reincarnation isn’t mentioned anywhere in the old texts. Rather it emerged from the detritus of the Flood and is linked to the primeval serpent and to the dark people of prehistoric times.

Srí Ramana Maharsi

"Bhagavan Srí Ramana Maharsi - as India's spiritually most influential circles say - was a Jivanmukta, one that has achieved the absolute metaphysical Awakening during his earthly-human life.
In general he had no definable path and he did not teach a path in the conventional meaning of the word: his teachings are focused on the innermost core of all possible paths. If we would regard it as yoga, we could validly call it Adi (Primordial)-yoga, ...

Sacred space and profane space

An excerpt from the book "The Sacred and the Profane - The Nature of Religion" (1959) by Mircea Eliade.

Chapter 1 Page 20

Homogeneity of space and hierophany

For religious man, space is not homogeneous; he experiences interruptions, breaks in it; some parts of space are qualitatively different from others. "Draw not nigh hither," says the Lord to Moses; "put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ...

Melchizedek

This thread is on Melchizedek, maybe a kind of summary topic, where information of thinkers etc are posted on Melchizedek.

First of all, the Internet has many pages on this subject, but not trusting fully its content, are there articles or books dedicated to him?
Secondly, the Ghibellines wanted to return to the true religion of Melchizedek, what exactly did they want/strive for?

USA, England, Scandinavia

Somewhere i read - i think it was something of Evola - that the USA, England and Scandinavia speeded up the downward circle.

Anyone can tell me exactly what Scandinivia 'contributed' to this?

Hermeticism / Alchemy

Does anyone practice here Hermeticism as a doctrine? I have a great deal of interest for the Hermetic Tradition and would like to get more of a general outline from someone with personal experience of active practicioning. Unfortunatly Evola's The Hermetic Tradition is unavailable in my country at the moment, so I'll just have to order it sometime.

I have also listened to a Hungarian discourse on the same issue and interestingly the speaker has ...
